My Nice Weekend

19th July 09 (3.5months old)
Took the train to Marina Square. Towards the end of the ride, he got hungry and had to be carried to soothe his crying.
By the time i reached a vacant nursing room after 4 occupied ones, he had already fallen asleep. Furthermore, he kept smiling and smiling while drinking milk. He got VERY distracted by the foreign decor of the room that he’s never seen before.
After the mandatory Popiah, we went in search of Tufeil’s clothes and bought 2 bodysuits and 2 pants + 1 towel = $70. Z’s treat! Yayyyy
We saw that mobile animal rides. And Adults are sooooooo allowed on these rides!!! Z, seeing the childish side in me, actually suggested we take it. And we did. 3 times! One wasn’t enough for me esp cos we got off a slow start preparing the camera. So two for me and Z cldnt resist to take one himself.

$2 per ride.

I checked out Maternity Exchange… They have a lot of nursing top options, even long sleeved one. Now that i’ve bought a pair of “sleeves”, i can wear short sleeved with it. Another alternative is a cardigan with a sleeveless dress.

Its rental rate is 4pcs @ $129 thereabout. Rental period is 4 weeks and u can rent up to 2 items at a time. There were several that i liked but somehow i hesitated. And Tufeil was also cranky, so i made my excuses.

In the end, i decided NOT to waste my money since i’ve just bought 2 nursing tops from Perfect Mum. (The gal was so nice, she suggested to send back to the tailor to put on long sleeves at only $5 for both!) And bcos, the only time i’d really need to wear a nursing top is at weekends when i go out w Tufeil which is like prolly 8days a month, out of which, i also have many other “normal” clothes option.

And to think that the week leading to that day, i was almost hyperventilating with excitement waiting to have a look-see.

Tufeil was already asleep. We took the chance to have tea and Choc ice blended and MONSTER Cookie at Starbucks. Z’s treat too. $15?

The best part of all was shopping at John Little. I have $100 shopping voucher from our D&D lucky draw. The deeper you went in, the more things you see… OUtside was just cosmetics and toiletries which i was sooo not interested. Then i saw bags and shoes. I picked 2 and a pair respectively. After that was the GLORIOUS Baby section!!! hahahah its really just normal but i had FREE money to spend was the nicest thought of all!

So from this section, i bought:

  1. 2boxes of Avent Breasts pads (3pairs) @ $20 each
  2. A Colourful Flexible teether toy $12
  3. Teats for my Avent Cups but realised that i need the white screw top which i cldnt find.
  4. Life Buoy refill hand wash

Moreover, NTUC members get a further $5 discount for every $40. The kind sales assistant even calculated and separated my bill to $55 each so i could enjoy $10 off on top of my $100 voucher. I paid just $25 extra for my purchases.

Only, sadly, cldnt get the brand of diapers and wet tissues that i want =( But Gosh it was fun. Because i truly shopped unhibittedly (is there such a word?) while T & Z did their father & Son thing. Otherwise, i would constantly worry if the stroller is in other pple’s way, if my son would get bored, if he’s hungry or whatever whatever.

With all those bags, we took a cab home.

Coping with First Stage of Labour

We arrived 2mins after 6:30pm.

Had to take off our shoes at the door. and sit on yoga mats. WOW!!! This is soooo gonna be hands on tonight. Zubair would totally NOT be bored.

True enough. The physiologist didnt even go thru slide by slide to explain the details of 1st stage of labour. Instead, she made it very interactive indeed.

First, we went thru the SIGNS of Labour:

1. A Show

- which is actually the mucus plug that’s been keeping ur baby safe inside the waterbag (imagine a CORK) being expelled vaginally.

- colour is brownish red and is normally just one gush/spot.

- no need to go to hosp just yet.

- is different from bleeding (bleeding redder and steadier flow) in which case u HAFTA go to hosp.

2. Contractions

- As far as possible, try to labour at home. Wait till contractions are 10 – 15min apart before going to the hosp unless you can’t cope with the pain.

- Where to go? Delivery Suite, 2nd Floor Women’s Tower. Alternatively, can also go to Basement 1 and they will wheel u up but DONT go to the emergency room, it will take LONGER. How ironic!!!!!

3. Waterbag Burst

- Odourless colourless

- Different from urine leakage in terms of colour and odour. like Duh. And that if you contract ur pelvic muscle, it still flows means its waterbag (aka amniotic fluid).

- You have 2 hours from now to take a shower, pack ur bag and check in to the hospital’s delivery suite. IMP: DON”T RUSH.

A new thing i learnt is that between the 1st and 2nd stage of labour, there is a transition stage where you will feel a strong urge to push but you’re NOT ALLOWED to. This is because your cervix is not dilated yet and can cause trauma to the cervix and/or baby if you insist on pushing!

So what can you do to NOT Push? Do the Fu-Fu-Ahhhhhhh breathing technic. LOL. That is actually 2 short breath blows and a long one. Dont know what its actually called. But if you keep on doing this, you will find that you have no time to even think of pushing. Or so she said. Otherwise, i’d say JUST CLOSE UR LEGS lah! LOL Also, try to lie on your SIDEs instead of back to ease the pressure of baby on ur cervix.

While having contraction pains, its best to remain UPRIGHT for gravity to pull ur baby down naturally. But LEANING FORWARD will ease the pressure off ur lower back. You can be in this position while standing (facing and leaning against the wall, or ur back to the wall) or sitting at the edge or a chair or straddling it. Rocking ur pelvis right and left will also give a soothing rhythm.

Now… massages…. There are 4 technics that she showed us. I have no idea how to note them in words. So i just hope Z will remember them in his mind. The only thing i can describe are:

  1. the massage is better done with no clothes in between to cause friction. Better still, use vegetable oil (for massage) for smoother flow
  2. Do not rub the spine too hard else it may cause injury. Light ones ok
  3. Tip to be good masseuse: Ask for feedback – too hard too soft?

We finished 45min earlier than scheduled! But that by no means we went home empty headed. I was really satisfied with today’s lesson i can’t wait for the next one. Oh if only Z could come for the 2nd stage and Labour Rehearsal class. Sheesh!

(Thank god the chilled goat meat didnt give off any embarrassing smell.)

35th Week Check Up

18th Feb 09

Weighed in @ 67.6kg.

And that was after having lunch too! 5 weeks ago i was 66kg. I’m Soooo happy. I was afraid i’d go more than 70kg but i still have another 5 weeks or so to go so who’s to say what can happen from now till then!

We waited for some 45min but only saw the doc for 5. Furthermore, it was a MALE doctor! Lucky Zubair didn’t mind. While waiting i went thru many many times in my head of all the list of things to say / ask:

  1. Z’s blood test result from last check up
  2. Why am i having rashes on my thigh? It cant be the stretch mark cream nor aloe vera cream i’ve been using cos i’ve used it a lot of time before. Could it be Bed bug? Lol
  3. What are the things i should pack to hosp?
  4. Who should i give my birth plan to?

He was in soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much of a hurry he made me feel… outrageous to be imposing on him questions he didnt have time for. But i didnt manage to weasel 2 answers out of him.

Ans to No 1: All ok
Ans to no 4: We dont entertain birth plan. (he even managed to smirk when i said i wanna try without epidural.)

He was in such haste to dismiss me that 3min later as i was waiting to make payment, the nurse had to call me back in. She said, “Doctor wants to ask you about your Blood sugar level.” Bah! At the rate he was going, Of course he would miss A LOT of things to check! He recorded down my latest reading and said its still not so bad.

Because we didnt have an ultrasound scan done that day, he examined my tummy. and by examine i mean just stick the doppler ON my tummy, got the heartbeat and Done. Had to wipe my tummy on my own! Even poly wasn’t as bad as that! They had attendants to help us clean up.

I didn’t care and just interrupted his washing ritual and asked, “Where’s the baby’s head?” Carelessly he replied, “Down lor.” As if i was such a duffer. Fortunately he was responsible enough to come back, have a feel and confirm, “Yeah there. can feel the hard head down there.” And he had to wash his hands again. HA ha.

The reason i asked is because i’ve been feeling the kicks and stretchings on my sides and showed the gynae where. To that he said, “Yeah that’s the correct place lah. If you feel the kicks below, then that’s a breeched baby.” Ahhh ok at least i actually LEARNT something.

In reflection, I can laugh at myself. I’m a Sengkek (stingy person) who demands for Private-class treatment. How can! *shake head*

At the payment and appointment counter, i asked if i can request for an additional ultrasound even tho the doc didnt order for it. The nurse asked me what kind of scan i want. Er… how many kinds are there? I just wanna see my baby and know how much he weighs! So i just shoot with,

Me: A Growth Scan?

and got reprimanded,

Nurse: For what you want a growth scan? U already did it what.
Me: Yeah but that was like 5 weeks ago
Nurse: Aiyah no need lah. Anyways there will be another one at 37 or 38 weeks.
Me: Which is like this next appointment.
Nurse: *faltered* But in any case, the doc didnt order for it. But he will lah for the following appt, dont worry.
Me: *MENTAL ROLL EYES*

So 2 weeks from now is actually 4th March. I requested for a day earlier. 3rd Mar!! Which is our anniversary!! Fancy going to the hosp on my bday and anniversary. =D *beaming*

After that was appointment with the dietitian.

She reviewed my readings and said hmmm quite ok but noted the highest ranges for after lunch and after dinner. She almost empathized with my situation when i said its getting more and more diff to control the urge.

She saw that i had some fast food and choc milk. While she was fiercely adamant that i CANNOT ABSOLUTELY take Choc milk, she also listed some of the fast food items that i can take. And some of the things are Thin Crust Pizza of Hawaiian, curry chix flavours, meat lovers but only 2.5 pieces of the LARGE size. Hey that’s MORE than i can eat anyways. =) Fillet, nuggets and DOuble Cheese burger are also ok. In fact, i can still add 1 fruit serving along with it.

The irritating part tho is Z told on me, the kaki paoto (however u spell it)!!! He told the dietitian i still eat sweet stuffs and only just now bought Kuih tart. I mean c’mon i only ate 1 piece! Teehee… i know i know he’s absolutely right, i have been having the sweet stuffs. but IT’S REALLY HARD OK TO BE DEPRIVED! At least, i can still say i have some control about it. As in, i dont eat them as freely as before, surely. Humph

It was 5pm by the time we finished with our appointments. Next is our Antenatal class @ 6:30pm. We managed to squeeze in dinner and a quick visit to the temporary Tekka Wet Market for Z to buy his darling GOAT meat.

Pasta Mania’s OVERRATED

14th Feb 09

Zubair has been wanting to give me a treat @ Fish & Co. But i’ve been rejecting… delaying etc… mainly bcos the last time i ate fish & Chip, my blood sugar level hit 9.6 when it should have stayed less than 7!

Then i saw on the papers that they are serving a special VDay menu only available on 13th and 14th Feb 09. I called up the Bugis Junction outlet to make a table reservation but unfortunately they dont take bookings for these two hot nights. Queue will be EXTREMELY Long i imagine.

So we decided to try out PAsta Mania then, which has just turned HALAL.

I met Zubair @ Marriott @ 8:30pm as he was from Bukit Timah. And he said that he saw there’s a Pasta Mania at Far East Plaza and we started walking towards there.

As it turned out, it was an ALL Al fresco dining style. read: HOT!!!!!

Yummy looking menu

This is a VEry hungy Look

I got a very confused perception of this restaurant. I am not sure whether it is a fast food or a real restaurant. You see… they hand out menus at the table… We can call on the attendant for Chilli sauce or any other things but we hafta go over to the counter to place our order and pay there. Also the menu is VERY fast food like with choices of 3 diff set meals to go along w the main dishes etc etc…

And then the food came…

Zubair had Turkey Bacon Aglio
I

t was disappointing at best. The serving was SUPER Small. Granted, they allow u to “UPSIZE” ur pasta for an additional $2.20 or something. But a small portion for $10 WITHOUT drinks?

And just look at the plate… sooo dry… not much gravy at all!!

I had a Chicken Basil Pizza
(How come i look so evil? as tho i was about to attack the pizza!)

7″ $10. Hmmm the dough was crispy which is just how i like it… but to me its not like REAL pizza lah… Perhaps lacking that tomato base. PLUS, its more like a SNACK for our ravenous selves. Zubair said its nice to the taste though…

Oh well, what could we possibly do other than go in search of more nutritional supplements. To make up for the guilt of eating too much, we walked to Plaza Singapura all the way from Far East Plaza! oh well… almost. Along the way, we made window shopping stops including one at John Little. I wanted to finally buy toiletries for the baby but seeing all those things was overwhelming i just cldn’t decide what to buy. But both Z and i agreed we should get the baby carrier first as opposed to the stroller. and a nice one that can carry front and back would come up to about $120.

Along the way, we saw Swensen’s and it’d be the PERFECT venue for supper + dessert! But damn the Queue was super duper long… AT LEAST 25 tables worth. Cldn’t be bothered to Q so persevered with the walk.

At John Little, we’ve already covered 2 bus stops and decided we could not even stand anymore after close to 1hr… so took the bus and had ICE CREAM!!

At last got my TRUE waffle. I should remember that its called a BELGIAN waffle this kinda thick, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside waffle.

I managed to look evil at EVERY food shot.

Worse, not many pple managed to take a proper STILL picture of me from the new hp.

Z ordered for just plain strawberry ice cream but ended up having most of my mango sorbet. Chet! So im still left unsatisfied.

When we reached Woodlands, we had a fries snack @ BK. But still Z felt the need to go to Al-Ameen right after he sent me home. But only ended up home an hour later disappointed that Tom Yam was not available (or so he said) and whipped himself his special omelette @ 2:30am.

Should i feel guilty eating like a glutton all night long? Probably not. As we all know, on weekends and Public HOlidays, calories don’t count. *wink*

The Big 30

No I’m not 30 yet. But I’m already 30 weeks pregnant. Another approximately 10 more weeks to go.

So yesterday’s scan went great. Zubair was able to take leave from school, Thank God. We also arrived in time. The wait wasn’t long.

But the scan, i felt, was too short. The doc DID show me the baby’s arms and thighs. His bones anyways. Told me that the baby’s head is down. and explained that she was capturing 4 sides of the waterbag for measurement. Told me that baby is 1.3kg, in good range.

I heard other people were paying $75 – $80 at the Antenatal Diagnostic Centre’s payment counter and got nervous. Alhamdulillah, I only needed to pay $40. It should have been $80 but coming from polyclinic, we are entitled to government’s grant as well as exemption of GST.

Next stop is the Gynae. We ate my half chicken kebab from last night and jemput2 brought from home (we are VERY skint) while waiting for our no to be called. When we came into the doc’s room, we were greeted by a, “Good Almost Afternoon!” SO cute this gynae. She said that because it was about 10min to 12nn.

She asked how’s the baby. I said fine just that he has been kicking extra extra extra from 2 days before. Gynae assured me that Kicking is good about 10 – 20 kicks in 12hours. But to inform her if i can’t feel any kicks at all.

Gynae translated from the scan that the baby’s head is down and that the placenta is high up. A good position. I then raised a concern to her, “Is it too early for the head to be down there?” Her reply, “No, not at all. In fact, its good if the head’s down from the beginning cos that’s the natural position, supposedly.” Let’s hope that it is also NATURAL for the baby to STAY in that position. OK baby? You hear that?

I asked doc also what’s my weight during my last visit cos i thought i’ve lost weight. Indeed, last visit was 67.5kg (altho a few days before that at poly i was 67.9kh thereabouts) and yesterday i was 66kg. I confided in her that i have been vomitting quite a lot. She seemed surprised and asked, “Wah you still vomit ah?” I said no just the 2 or 3 times cos i was sick. But she concluded that it’s still ok if i lost weight as long as baby is growing healthily which he is. Ok i breathed a sigh of relief.

At the payment counter, i think a lot of pple felt lost you know. I dont know what system they use but we dont hafta submit any papers, they will know we have finished and will call our no. It was while waiting to be called that i remembered i forgot to give the doc my blood test reports.

See, during my first KK visit, the doctor noted that polyclinic did not give ALL of theblood test results i’ve done there which includes the thalassaemia, HIV test and whatever and told me to go get a copy before i come the next time, which i did before setting out to the hospital. Unfortunately, Z’s blood test report was not included. She was able to access from the system but it wasn’t clear if the report was of mine or his. I tried to tell her that the ones with all good marks are Z’s, the one with red marks for haemoglobin will be mine. But she seemed unsatisfied and ordered for blood test to be done on the same day since we were there already.

It is while waiting for his blood to be drawn, we noticed these two indian Ladies talking quite animatedly in Hindi. I have noticed them from when we first reached there because i said to Z, “Your friend.” hehe But seems a bit funny or coincidental that after 1.5hr they are back there together with us too.

They talked somemore i only caught incoherent bits n pieces. But Z intercepted them and asked whats wrong etc. Turned out that they had been waiting for their turn to be called for the past 1.5hr sitting there when they actually havent submitted the paper into the tray!!! Also, the husband wasn’t in town to get his blood drawn either. Poor them.

The fees for this round is $60, after close to 50% govt grant, which includes 3 diff analysis from the blood and consultation.

Next still was a follow up with the Dietitian from my ODAC day. She reviewed my chart and marvelled that even after a pizza bread, my blood level was good. Deduced that it could have been the walking, although i doubt International Plaza to my office is THAT energy depleting. lol. But again reminded me that i should avoid fried stuffs n sweet stuffs like my Kuih TArt!!! Also advised me to take TWO calcium tablets a day (as i seem not to have taken ANY MILK AT ALL since ODAC), when i havent even begun to take any though i had already bought it. God help me.

$9, please.

Afterwards, we went to a coffee shop at the rear side of Mustafa for lunch. We purposely didn’t go to Usman because we wanted Chappati but we were still served Naan without being asked as the former isnt available. ERRGH! Im not sure but i doubt Naan uses wheat like chappati?

The whole day I was walking uncomfortably because my slip on slipper was feeling slippery. So we burnt off the calories window shopping at Mustafa and got my full covered shoe @ $16. I normally wear size 38, but this time, just to be safe, i bought size 41!!! HAHAHA in case i get water retention much later but it is still comfortable lah.

I also noticed that the Palmer’s stretch cream marks are a good $10 cheaper there!!!!!!!!GRRRRRRRR

Anyways, next visit is not for another 5 weeks. Strange because at this stage I should be seeing her every 2 weeks once. Just as well, we thought, so we can cut cost though we should be mindful that if there’s anything to be worried about, should contact the gynae straight away.

All in all, I thank God baby’s fine and healthy.

Usman’s Place and Ghajini

10/01/09

First Stop: Dinner at Usman’s Place @ Bussorah Street.

I think the name is sooooo not compatible to the settings. See… their first branch is called Usman Restaurant but it is more like a run down open air coffee shop at Lil India. But this is a high class, chic restaurant but they just simply call it Usman’s Place.

The interior is somewhat authentic to Paki taste, i think. That is what i gather from Wana’s pictures from Karachi restaurants anyway. Afraid i dont have much picture to speak of. But this is what we had:

Paki style Something Chicken w Fried Rice.

Shami Kebab.

I wasn’t feeling so hungry hence just the light Shami Kebab but BOY WAS IT HOT!!
No Main dishes below $10. But a good place to impress lah right.
I did a naughty thing afterwards. I bought donuts! Half a dozen at that! But just ate 2. Hafta control.
We made it just nice for Ghajini, Aamir Khan’s latest movie, at 8:20pm.
Ok tell me who’s not going to melt looking at this … this… Perfection Personified?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!
How come he seems to look younger and not older?

So funny… my baby was kicking me thru all the upbeat theme song! So much so that i just couldnt concentrate watching Aamir’s extremely well crafted physique during that lovely song. LOL What can i say? Thank God he’s not a sappy love song kinda guy.

The movie? The beginning was a tad slow. I very much prefer the happy flashbacks then the teary and dangerous Current time.

I dont know whether the gruesome parts have been censored or that’s exactly how Aamir wanted it. Just as well for me. For i could have either screamed or thrown up if i’ve seen the “real” pokes and wat nots.

Good show, nonetheless. It’s Aamir Khan, what.

A Proper Date Finally.

Thurs. 18/12

After a few days of scrimping and trying to stretch the $, finally came the time for us to be able to go out on a date. Properly.

Didn’t even care that we’ve lost the discount coupon for the Flyer. We just wanted to go there. DIE DIE must go – as the slang dictates. The plan got cancelled many times before when we readjusted our monetary priorities.

Met him at the Esplanade right after work.

Check out the white thingies on the water in the background.

They are New Year message balls something or other. You buy a ball with 3 size range, write a msg w a marker on it and splash in on the water. Something like tt. Dont have details.

Oh God. We took like some 10mins to walk to the Flyer from the Esplanade. My feet could barely stand walking, and the evening was only beginning! We bought the ticket at about 6:30pm. Glad there was not a long Q and we skipped thru the fake camera shot. We were hoping to witness day to night change again, but alas it was still not properly dark by the time we got off.

The customary shot that i’ve seen at other pple’s sites lotsa times

Just before boarding.

Standing by the door is eerie ok.

Inside the allegedly biggest observatory cabin.

While waiting for the short queue in front of us, suddenly a couple got passed thru FIRST and got the entire cabin for themselves. Apparently they’ve bought the POWER up package. But No… they can’t be doing anything naughty cos there are 2 cameras in there ;)

We asked a stranger to take our photo.

To make up for the awkward smile, i deepened my dimple.

Me cldn’t stand anymore.

I like this crazy shot.

XMas lights, everybody~

Zubair the Savage Bear @ the Souvenir Shop.

Jus the Mummy to be with Xmas Tree

Inevitably, we had dinner at the foodcourt at Marina Sq. Again.

Just wanted to show you this halter neck maternity top i bought from Spring Maternity @ 50% discount. $25

We reached home AFTER 11pm.

Fish & Co!!!!!

Thursday 4th Dec.
I read from a friend’s website about “Muslim-Friendly” restaurants in Singapore that’s not necessarily certified and i was sooooooooo glad that FISH & CO is one of them!!!
There was a time when Zubair was newly here and he asked to eat at Fish & Co. Despite my whole body yearning for some of their food, i fought the urge and told him, “No, we can’t. What if they fry using Pig Oil?” Lol.
My friend was quick to add how she concluded this place as Muslim Friendly:

Just to share, I personally met the founder/owner of Fish and Co at an
entrepreneurship seminar back in Uni, and he assured that strictly follows halal
requirements except for the fact that his outlets sell liquor.

He shared the Muslim market is important to him so his alternative strategy is to employ Muslim employees who can do the word-of-mouth validation for him to customers.

And its true, there’s always more than a handful of them around.
But like I said, info is only to the best of my (limited) knowledge, so you may want to get reassurance from the staff if you do decide to dine at these places. Strictly
seafood outlets like Fish n Co are necessarily foolproof all the time; I remember getting the shock of my life after 2 days of happily eating great fish n chips in San Francisco, turns out most outlets use beer-battered fish!

Ok i risk sounding country bumpkin-ish but the knife’s unique! ahahah

So the very next evening, me and Zubair went to their best outlet at Park Mall, fondly called the Glasshouse. We were there pretty early and the crowd was non existent so we had EXCELLENT service attention. However, the downside was the washroom was under maintenance so i had to go to the main shopping center’s facility and one level up at that. Ergh.

I wondered why they needed to have this special fish-bone placemat
I took so long to go to the loo that my soup got cold when i returned and the very proactive and sensitive waiter offered to reheat the soup. Damn. I forgot to give him a fish bone for his individual service.
We had Fish Chowder for starters. I was a bit apprehensive about having FISH Soup lah so called but to my delight, it didnt taste Fishy AT ALL!! Its just as creamy and as nice as mushroom soup only better!
I tell you i cant take a good photo nowadays with the weight im putting on
Nor can i smile like i used to – with teeth showing – it will make my nose look SO BLOODY ROUND!

Another appetiser – FRIED CALAMARI

I wanted to order the Seafood platter, but was afraid it might be too much so ordered Calamari instead. A few min later, it finally struck me that Zubair doesnt really eat squid. So we had to send them packing. Hmmm well … its nice… but its not really the kind of calamari i like… i love with more batter. The crispier the better. But it did taste nice.

Mine – Danish Fish & Chips

They had a special $10 nett promotion for their 10th anniversary with special Fish & Chips menu. One of them being this Danish Fish & Chips with OOOOOOOOZing Mozarella cheese!!!! Now this is the Fish & Chips with cheese ive been dreaming about!!! I’ve only been taking the one @ Fig & Olive’s with half slice of Cheddar cheese on top, so i can tell you this one is HEAVEN!

Zubair’s Something Ginza Salmon.

Naturally, he’d prefer to eat them with rice and it looks yummy – the rice i mean. But when he fed me some, i felt it was tasteless. Then again i’m not a very fishy person UNLESS its deep fried. Zubair the Salmon lover enjoyed it tremendously.
After finishing the soup and fries, I cldn’t finish the Fish nor the Calamari so we had to pack it. Later that night when we reheated it, it was still as nice as ever, ok!!

The following day, i described my exp to the friend who recommended me this place in the first place. Suddenly she had a craving for it, and the two of us crazy Preggers went for an impromptu lunch @ Suntec City outlet.

I’m a happy girl. … (Or should i start considering myself as a woman?)

City of Ember

Wow. It’s been a long time since ive been to a cinema with Zubair watching an ENGLISH movie.

Upon reading the synopsis and seeing the trailer, i promised Z that it would be an adventure genre which he will like, as he did with Journey to the Centre of the Earth.

While i like Period Dramas…

And had a whole new world in this movie..

I found that it was a bit slow at times not even a background music thingy. Dull.
The story and/or plot is nice though. Creative and original. But might not make sense for those who like to scrutinize the scientific details.
Even sitting comfortably in the cinema, watching them live in an underground world without having seen light made me feel suffocated and claustrophobic. Yikeness!

S’pore Flyer Date Turned Into….

It’s Tuesday again and we got to go out~! Hoorayyy

The plan was to go to Singapore Flyer because i got 15% discount coupon from AIA for upcoming Bday (i know, lame) as well as an upgrade to express boarding. Thought that 6.45 would be just nice to board for 30min…

When i met Zubair at Esplanade and asked to look at the coupon, he put on a straight face and said, “I didnt bring.” He was always teasing me like that that i thought he was kidding about it too this time. Alas, he really didnt bring it!

Ok so we decided we were not fated to board the flyer that day and went to the library instead and borrowed 5 DVDs.

Zubair had an idea to go have dinner at Clarke Quay… but i had to turn down the idea cos my feet cldn’t take it anymore and suggested Marina Square foodcourt instead. Thankfully he was happy with the idea cos the Indian stall makes nice chappati. Yayyy Win Win situation.

After that we really just hung out… looking at wallets, shoes, and stuffs. It’s a miracle that i know how to window shop now. And then my feet started screaming again to sit down. So we took the opportunity to indulge in some ….

ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!!

Tembamness!!!! (Chubbiness!!)
OMG, what is it with me and ice cream??? Simply can’t get enough of them. Hafta punctuate meals with them. Tsk tsk tsk *shake head*
